What is Google Analytics?
Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. This algorithm was created in November 2005 after acquiring Urchin. and was designed to help identify reporting on all website pages and their attributes. Having Analytics on your company website is a great tool to help you keep your website and it’s content optimized at it’s best. It is full of information based on the traffic that comes to your website, how it got there, and a general area (zip code) of where the user is located. On September 29, 2011, Google Analytics launched Real Time analytics, enabling a user to have insight about visitors currently on the site.
Is My Website Formatted for Google Analytics?
That depends.. If you are using a custom HTML website, you may have to go through some additional coding to have your Analytics account linked to your website. However if you are using a CMS (content management system) such as Drupal, Joomla or WordPress, a downloadable plug-in makes connecting Analytics fairly easy.
